My interest in photography started in the mid 1990s when I was "elected" by my wife to be the family photographer. In that role, I captured photos from my family's many activities. including family gatherings, vacations as well as our two sons' school and sports activities. I didn't pay much attention to the details back then, but I knew I liked taking photos, and slowly but surely I began to develop a passion for photography.

Over the years, I integrated my love of music (especially attending concerts) with photography and I began to capture some decent shots of the artists I went to see, even though I had to take them under less than optimal conditions. By that I mean not having credentials, which typically means the ability to use a professional camera very close to the stage (In most of my earlier concert pics, I used a very good pocket camera with a decent zoom).

Given that I live in the Washington, DC metro area, I often visit the many national monuments and historic buildings that are here and taking pics of those as well. I also take my camera and lenses with me when I travel, so I also take plenty of photos of things I find interesting.

 

I have also been hired to shoot small events and in 2021 I shot my first wedding as well. I am starting to shoot more portraits as well, so things are looking up.
